Washington Oak is in the News!
Last school year, Washington Oak took part in a grant with Play Works to reshape our recess program. We were able to train our supervisory assistants and offer additional games and activities at recess. Because of this, we were highlighted by Play Works and Rhode Island Public Radio! Check out the story using the link below.
What's Happening In PE?
Mrs. Grosso had grade 3 students moving and grooving Halloween style this week! Students were rotating through gross motor stations, focusing on throwing, shuffling their body, moving on a slider and jumping. The Halloween themed music made it even more exciting!
What's Happening in Our Classrooms?
There is always lots of learning with a sprinkle of fun throughout the school day at Washington Oak! Check out the pictures below showing a fun event in Kindergarten, Mrs. Estrela teaching a math lesson in grade three, Kindergarten students in reading stations, Mrs. Lupino teaching a writing lesson and grade 5 students working on math independent stations.
The Harvest Festival was a HUGE success! Thank you to the PTA for coordinating this event for all of the students at Washington Oak. Thank you to all the volunteers who supported the event and the staff that put in their time to attend and help. (especially for the pie eating contest!)
