Dear Washington Oak Parents:
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Washington Oak Elementary School. It is my privilege and honor to join the Washington Oak School community. I am looking forward to an exciting year getting to know all of the Washington Oak students and working with you, the parents and community members in Coventry.
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to the Coventry community. I began my educational career 12 years ago in Connecticut as a classroom teacher. I taught grades 1, 4 and 5 for six years and then became a reading specialist and literacy coach. Throughout the last three years, I have worked as the assistant principal at Hugh Cole Elementary School in Warren, RI. I have been married for 10 years to my husband Justin and have two children, Christian who is six years old, and Collette, who is 21 months old.
My goal as principal at Washington Oak Elementary School is to ensure the safety and success of each student, every day. Working alongside the educators and community members at Washington Oak, I will strive everyday to provide the best possible education for each student who attends our school. I will work to promote a positive school culture and safe learning environment, each day.
I look forward to an incredible year ahead! I will be sending out emails with beginning of the school year information in the next two weeks. Please take a look at our new updated website. I will be creating blog posts with updates, pictures and school information throughout the school year.
My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas! I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the ice cream social in August.
