Updates from Nurse Peg Per the Rhode Island Department of Health Any students experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 before the school day begins should stay home.
If a student develops COVID-19 symptoms while at school, the child should be taken to the school nurse and the isolation room immediately. Parents/guardians should be notified to pick up the student within the hour.
The Nurse will review the protocols for testing and the criteria for return to school with the parent.
Covid-19 School Policy Updates Per the Rhode Island Department of Health the following updates have been established regarding PROBABLE CASES. If a student is sent home as a probable case with the recommendation that he/she get Covid tested (or if anyone in the household is waiting for test results due to symptoms), all siblings and household members will need to isolate at home until a negative test result. The negative test result must be the PCR test not the rapid test. If a student is sent home as a probable case they may RETURN to school when: The PCR test comes back negative AND the symptoms have RESOLVED. Please note that the guidelines are subject to change based on current community rates and CDC and DOH updates.
